Recipes

Real Coffee Cake

1 cup sugar
2 cups flour
2 eggs
2 teaspoonsful baking powder
1 cup butter, divided in 1/2's
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk

¼ cup cold (strong) coffee
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
brown sugar and cinnamon to taste

 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

 

Beat eggs and sugar till creamed.

Add milk mixed with vanilla, alternately with flour mixed with salt,baking powder.

After all that is mixed, add 1/2 cup of the butter,melted.

Pour batter into 8"x8" oiled and floured pan.

Sprinkle lots of brown sugar on top to cover,followed by cinnamon.

Pour on remaining melted 1/2 cup of butter over the sugar and cinnamon.

 

Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes or till toothpick comes out clean.
